Privacy Policy & HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices

Effective Date: January 1, 2026. Optavise is committed to protecting your sensitive personal, demographic, and health information with highest enterprise security and regulatory compliance.

1. Strict Zero-Spam Commitment

Optavise does not sell, rent, license, or trade your personal contact details, telephone numbers, or email addresses to external third-party marketing companies, lead generation aggregators, or unauthorized brokers. Your data is strictly utilized by our internal licensed Benefits Counselors to provide the insurance quote comparisons and policy advisory you requested.

2. HIPAA Compliance & Protected Health Information (PHI)

When you submit medical details, prescription medication names, or health questionnaire answers to your counselor for underwriting evaluation, that information is classified as Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). We implement physical, administrative, and technical safeguards—including 256-bit AES encryption in transit and at rest—to ensure confidentiality.

3. Information Collected & Use Cases

We collect information necessary to obtain accurate, state-regulated rate filings from insurance underwriters, including: name, date of birth/age, gender, residential zip code, nicotine/tobacco status, and desired benefit amounts. This information is transmitted securely to appointed underwriters solely for calculating eligibility and rate card matching.

4. Digital Policy Vault Security

All policy certificates, schedule of benefits, and member cards uploaded or generated in the Member Vault are protected by multi-factor authentication, role-based access control, and continuous security monitoring.
